Influence Marketing

Influence marketing has become a popular way for brands to reach their target audience and promote their products or services. This type of marketing takes advantage of the trust and influence that certain individuals have over their followers, by partnering with them to create content that promotes a specific brand.

Influencer marketing usually takes place on social media platforms, like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Twitter.  Brands often work with influencers by providing them with products or compensation in exchange for creating content that promotes their brand. The content created by influencers can be made in many forms, Some of these forms include sponsored posts, product reviews, unboxing videos, and more. When influencers promote a brand, they are using their own voice and perspective to make a recommendation to their followers, which can be seen as more genuine and trustworthy than traditional advertising methods.

One of the benefits of influence marketing is that it allows brands to reach a specific, targeted audience. By partnering with an influencer who appeals to a particular demographic, brands can reach people that are interested in their products or services and are more likely to make a purchase. Another benefit of influence marketing is that it can create a sense of social proof for a brand. When a trusted influencer recommends a product or service, their followers may be more likely to take notice and consider making a purchase themselves.

An example of an influencer that I have taken a liking to is, Kendall Jenner. She is a model, television personality and influencer. She has gained a large following on social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, where she posts about her personal life, fashion, and beauty content. As an influencer Kendall Jenner partners with brands in the fashion, beauty and lifestyle industries to promote their products to her followers.  She recently created a product known as 818, a tequila small-batch brand. On her social media platforms she is able to market her 818 by making videos and encouraging her friends to as well. It is a great way to use her voice on these sites to show off her new company.

Selena Gomez is another example of an influencer that I think is successful. Selena Gomez is known for her personal life, make up brand and mental health advocacy. Rare Beauty is a company created by Selena, marketed all throughout social media platforms. Selena herself is one of her biggest promotors by documenting her make-up routine using her Rare Beauty Products. She also continues to promote her company by sending her products to other influencers, known for their beauty routines and are trusted by their following. This opens her audience through other influencers allowing for much more business success and growth.
